Long Flight Survival Guide

Whether you're a first time flyer or always in the air, those 8 hour + flights are exhausting & stressful.
You won't be able to sleep very long but ironically, your arms & legs will have no problem falling asleep.
Here is a guide to survive and make those economy flights more enjoyable.
1) Pack your Entertainment.  Charge up all your devices. (tablet, laptop, phone, iPod etc)  Download movies or seasons of your favorite shows. Download books on your e-readers. Don't forget your earbuds! The only thing worst than a dead iPad on a plane, is not having your earbuds.
2) Dress comfortable and wear layers. Change into a super comfortable outfit before you board. Leggings and sweatpants are best!  They're like publicly acceptable pajamas.  You never know what temperature the plane will be (usually chilly) so layers are the best option. Wear a cotton tank top, and long-sleeve t-shirt, a hoodie... this way, layers can be removed if any other passenger decides to keep their window wide open while the plane is next to the sun!  Bring a big scarf to use as a blanket in case of extremely cold situations (window seat).
3) Try to get some sleep early. Try to get some sleep early on in the flight... Herbal tea can be quite helpful if you are trying to sleep. Bring an eye-mask and a neck pillow. Bring some face lotion to apply before you fall asleep. It will prevent your face from drying out.
4) Stay hydrated and eat light. Once you're through security, buy a large bottle of water and ask the flight attendants to refill it during the duration of the flight. Hydration is everything.  Also pre-order the strict vegetarian/vegan option so that the food doesn't weight you down. Remember, you are sitting down for a LONG time & you don't want an upset stomach cause nobody wants to be sitting on an airplane toilet.
5) Avoid germs. Planes are incubators for viruses. Wipe down your arm rests, seat belt fasteners, tray table, window pull, and wall next to your seat with sanitizing wipes.  Bring some Airborne to make sure you have plenty of Vitamin C in your system.  All that recycled air can get you sick & you don't want to be sick on vacation.
NOW YOU'RE READY!

The Great Suitcase Debate...

The Great Suitcase Debate...

There are two kinds of packing people in this world...
Rollers and Folders.
Those who fold the clothes they pack in their suitcase are traditional and neat,
while those who roll are innovative and resourceful.
So, which method is the more advantageous one?
Let’s look at some pros and cons...
It's no secret you may need to iron when it comes time to unpack your rolled clothes. The type of fabric greatly affects the outcome - knit, wool, and nylon are less prone to wrinkles while cotton and silk are the opposite.
Folding is said to make clothing feel bulky. So while rolling can fit more items in your suitcase, folding saves you precious time you would otherwise spend ironing.... And think of the irony when if you’re forced to use that extra space gained from rolling for an iron.  Although most hotels have irons available in the rooms(such as our)... others don't... or 20 year old irons that will sooner soak, stain or burn your clothes than get the wrinkles out.  Call ahead to avoid the risk.

The solution we can offer is using a mixture of both methods.
Roll those virtually non-wrinkle items, like that little black nylon American Apparel dress or ten pairs of socks you persuade yourself to bring and fold the collared shirts!
This way, you won’t find yourself sparring with your suitcase and can get to your destination unscathed.

Happy Travels!
